Renewing Body and Mind

As I endured a 22 minute roast session in the sauna. I had time to really think and the thought that resonated most was “you can’t heal if you don’t recover from the thing that has broken you!” In that moment, I was thinking literally about my aching joints and bones, but the more I thought about it, the more I could relate it to other aspects of my life.
Today’s devotional hit hard! Here goes:
A renewed mind thinks with discernment. It no longer blindly follows emotions or culture; it seeks God’s perspective in every decision.
So, how do we renew our minds?
Immerse yourself in Scripture. The Bible isn’t just information; it’s transformation. It reorders your perspective and aligns you with truth.
Meditate on God’s Word.Think deeply about it. Turn it over in your mind. Let it sink in.
Speak truth out loud. Declare Scripture over your life. Hearing truth strengthens faith.
Capture rogue thoughts. When a thought doesn’t align with God’s truth, take it captive and confront it. Don’t let it run loose.
Pray for transformation. Ask God to help you see situations, people, and yourself as He does.
Today, recognize that your mind is not fixed; it’s flexible. God is in the business of rewiring your thinking so that you can walk in His good, pleasing, and perfect will. The more your thoughts align with His truth, the more peace, purpose, and clarity you’ll experience.
What I took from this is renewal of the mind is just as important, if not more important, than renewing the body. A renewed mind leads with clarity, discernment, and clearer perspectives while a foggy spirit blindly follows emotions. I don’t want to be solely driven by emotions. How about you?
I pray today brings you a renewed peace and a renewed mind.
