Day 9 of Gratitude -- Growth

Today is day 9 of my 30 days of gratitude challenge and I am grateful for my growth. There is an old saying "I’m glad I don’t look like what I've been through!" I am so happy that this holds truth for my growth process. Some of the things that I have had to go through (grow through) have truly helped me morph into the woman that I am today.

Growth can be such an intricate thing. One day you feel like you are making progress and the next day you feel like you've taken ten steps backward. But that's the thing about growth. It has ebbs and flows, ups and downs. Honestly, understanding your own personal growth is more about understanding the process and knowing that you will be ok whether you are on the upside or the downside of it. Either way, you will be ok!

I used to think that my life had to be a certain way. A way that was acceptable to others. That there was a singular formula for success. Clearly that's not real at all! But having a growth mindset has allowed me to better understand that life is not one dimensional. In reality, life is a multifaceted and complex thing that allows you to make choices and moves that change the way your life goes.

Growth can be hard because it requires change, flexibility, and trust. Sometimes trusting yourself and adjusting to change can be the hardest thing you do for yourself. Growth comes with challenges but it also comes with relief. I am grateful for growth because it has helped me to see the silver lining in a lot of very drab situations and it has allowed me to foster a mindset that doesn't get easily shaken. Now, even in the challenging situations I look for the points of growth.
