Dreu is little brother to Bleu. The rebel. The wild card. And he messed up with the love of his life, Pancakes.
We meet Dreu in Bleu, and he talks about Pancakes a little bit there, so go read that first.
Dreu is no longer a struggling rapper. He's Big D. A superstar. Making money, boo. And still pining away for Jatavia.
Meanwhile Jatavia, or Pancakes, is trying to keep her head above water with her raggedy ass mama's boy dude Devin. (Devin ain't that dude!) Like how you live here and think you aren't contributing financially.
Concert in Vegas and while Jatavia thinks Devin wants to take her out, she soon realizes all the homeboys canceled on him and she was his last resort. To make matters worse, Jatavia ends up 3rd wheel with Devin and his homeboy who is on some creep shit. I mean, how you eye-humping ya boy's ole lady? In front of his oblivious ass, no less?
Jatavia doesn't know that it's a Big D concert, but the universe is funny, cause Dreu been manifesting her apparently. See, Dreu cheated, and that is a non-negotiable, so Jatavia walked. No fuss, no fight. She just left, and he ain't been right since.
They lock eyes at the concert, and all these emotions coming flooding back. Jatavia's gotta go. It's too much, and Devin is right there fangirling like it's a Beyonce concert. Once again...with his oblivious ass. Dreu isn't having it, so he gets on his PI/stalker shit, and swoops in like he never left. And get this Devin lets him. Just hands her over like she was a jacket that he didn't want anymore. Naturally, Jatavia is skeptical. Who wouldn't be? But after dealing with the loser that is Devin, and the fact that she never stopped loving Dreu, she figures why the hell not?
Now that Dreu has realized how bad he messed up, he becomes the walking embodiment of "if he wanted to, he would."
Favorite Quote: "Her love felt like coming home after a storm, drenched and shivering, and finding a fire burning just for you."
I love me a good swoon.
So, if you love a good second chance romance, while also getting loved up properly, give Dreu a read!
