Book Review: Bleu by Masterpiece

The book I started after Only If It's You is a lil long...like 14 hours and some change long. So in order to meet my self-imposed Tuesday book review deadline, I grabbed my Kindle.

My TBR is long af, so don't worry. There's always a book waiting in the wings.

This is the 3rd book that I've read by Masterpiece. Filth Kings I and II were my intro to dark romance. And baby let me tell you...they did not disappoint.

Moving on to Bleu. Businessman. Fine. Suave. Hung. Pushy mama. Pushover daddy. Brother who gets to be less than perfect. You know, typical MMC stuff.

Bleu can have any woman he wants. Has had any woman he wants. But his mama is worried about the family legacy. He needs to get married to someone worthy of the Langston name. She got on my damn nerves. Especially after we get into the details of her marriage. Ma'am, have a seat.

Truly. Middle child. Mama. Scattered. Daddy's girl. The "fat" one. The problem.

Poor Truly. She's a creative who just wants to create. She finds joy in a ton of different things, so she flits from endeavor to endeavor. I related heavily to her that. If you follow me on IG, then you know that my interests vary. Her mama sees it as a waste of time and money. Her daddy tries to help her fund her passions within the boundaries that her helicopter mama will let him. Baby daddy Aubry uses her daughter to manipulate her into sleeping with him even though he is very married to a POS. Her older sister Calissi needs to be drug all up and through the house for her attitude. Like how you mad cause I live at home? You live here, too!

As you can see...my girl got a lot going on.

Both sets of parentals decide to hook up their eldest offsprings. Bleu see Calissi and offers her a modeling job. He is too busy trying to be all up in Truly's mix. I mean like 'let me sniff your panties' all up in. I mean, he offered her $5K just.to.sniff. Hell, I would've handed mine over, too.

This sets the stage for Truly to see what a real man truly (pun absolutely indeed) looks like. Bleu sees a problem and he fixes it. She doesn't have to ask. She just causally mentions an irritation in her life, and he finds a solution.

Bleu is smitten to the point where he asks his brother Dreu for advice. (Dreu is a whole nother animal who has his own story up next.) He is in his head about it, because these feelings are new and scary. We've all been there, though.

Bleu was a very enjoyable read, letting every woman know that:

  • If he wanted to, he would

  • It ain't tricking if you got it

  • Hoes gone hate you, cause they ain't you. And sometimes said hoes are blood.

  • And finally...let that man love on you. You are worthy of it all.

If you have a Kindle, go ahead and add Bleu by Masterpiece to your library. And as always, we grown over here. They getting it in, so if that's not your yum...don't yuck mine. 😏
