Happy Sunday Y’all! It’s the first Sunday of October and new a month of self care Sunday posts will begin. For the past few weeks I have had a recurring urge to share about freedom and being free.
If you wanna get spiritual the word says “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36 NIV
But this ain’t a Bible post. This is a post about freedom and for some they need a religious declaration to understand their spiritual reality. But for those who operate fully in the spirit to be free is to be free in all aspects.
This morning I woke up with that same tugging desire to share my thoughts on freedom. Like to hear it…here it goes!!!
Freedom is not needing or desiring anyone’s acceptance about anything that you do. Freedom is just doing. Being your authentic self without regard for anyone else’s opinion of you. You don’t need permission or acceptance to be free.
If more of us would operate in our own freedom, fewer of us would be impacted by the judgement of others. Freedom is not worrying about whether someone will agree or disagree with your private choices. Who’s business is it who you love, if you’re an avid wine drinker, if you prefer to show your middriff, if you’d rather wear baggy clothes, if you’d rather rock Jordans versus Heels, if you’re happy single, if you prefer not to have kids, if you’ve had an abortion, if you had weight loss surgery or a tummy tuck, if you’re a naturalista or and prefer the creamy crack, if you’re a divorcee or a working on a rocky marriage, if you are rediscovering your strength, or learning to find your voice, whether you are an entrepreneur or a proud nine to fiver. You will always have people who have an opinion about your life and how they think it could be better! But know this…their opinions of you don’t matter. Only your opinion of you matters!
Only your voice about you matters!!! It doesn’t matter what it is…hear me loud and clear Sis…YOUR life and YOUR choices are YOUR business. YOU have to be happy with who you are and where you are in this journey called life.
So if you’ve ever felt like you needed permission to be free…here it is! Be free!
