Happy Black History Month!!

Y'all know how much I love being Black and honestly I was going to write about how my pastor did his big one this morning, but I am just gonna share the link and let you see for yourselves.
This morning I revisited a J.Bolin look from 2021. I love this dress so much and honestly never knew if I would wear again, but today on the praise platform felt like the perfect time to run it back!
The top pictures were taken in 2021. So much has changed since then and not just my body. My entire life has shifted in a new direction. I am physically and mentally healthier today (bottom pics) than I was back then. Today, Pastor Jackson talked about how before Jesus fed the 5,000, he had gone he had just heard the news of John the Baptist being beheaded and while he was trying to retreat and go into solitude as he often did as a part of his spiritual practice. His believers followed him and instead of rejecting them, he showed compassion and performed miracles.
Imagine losing your friend or loved one for no reason at all to a senseless death. All because a tyrannical leader wants to flex his political power. I'm talking about King Herod in Matthew 14. You probably didn't click the link to watch the sermon but you should, it was sooo good. The message was "you won't break my soul!" and clearly I am still gonna talk about it sooo...
Cues Beyonce...
Sometimes you have to hurt before you can heal. Sometimes you have to experience brokenness so that you can allow yourself to be used to walk into your purpose.
Walking into this 100th year of celebrating Black History, I am so honored to be a DOPE BLACK WOMAN! I have been hurt and broken and felt like I was down to my last everything, but God! The way God has shown up for me in my brokenness let's me know that I am his and that is what keeps me. I know that Black Women have the favor of God and I hope that as you walk into this February and this month you know that and you own that!
Y'all I am living my life solely on faith and I thought it was going to be hard but it really is the easiest choice that I have ever made. Being a Black woman surrounded by Dope Black Women makes it even better!
The joy that I have, the world didn't give it, so the world can't take it away! Black Joy!

I hope you found some joy today! I sure did!!
Love you...
