Today's blogpost is dedicated to one of my favorite people in the whole wide world...my big sister! There are very few memories that I have that don't include her. From growing up and watching her cheer and be in the band, I knew I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. She was the absolute coolest to me. When she got her first car she shared it with me even though I'm five uears younger than her. When she went to college, I couldn't wait to get there with her. So much so that I couldn't wait to get there with her and she decided to hang back and complete a masters so we could be roommates. So we got to go to college together, you can't imagine how much fun I had at 16 years old, all while having my big sister there to keep me safe! And trust me she did an amazing job of keeping me safe while allowing me the space to experience college to the fullest extent. Y'all I love my sister in such a special way. There really isn't a single thing that I've experienced that she hasn't been there to guide me through. I can't express enough how grateful I am to have been blessed with the big sister that I have.
So today, I am wishing the happiest of birthdays to my beautiful, kind, and sweet big Sister, Dr. Karla Turner-Bailey…I am who I am today because of you. Thank you for showing up for me for as long as I can remember. Thank you for being so much more than a big sister to me. You’ve also been and continue to be a second mom, a best friend, an amazing Soror, a confidante, a counselor, a backup singer (in real life), a co-signer, a thought partner, the voice of reason, and so much more. You mean everything to me and my family and I can’t express enough how much I love you. You’re the peanut butter to my jelly and an amazing Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, and Friend to your loved ones. I pray that this next season is the best one yet! Thank you for always being there when I call. I hope that I can be at least some of what you are to me and mine to you and yours! Y’all help me wish my big sister and best friend since I came to Earth a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I love you SISSYBOP!!!
