Whew...what a first 7 days of the new year! I have been overwhelmed by the amount of affirmations from other Dope Black Women that I have received which in turn has become confirmation that I am doing exactly what I need to be doing and on that path to something greater for us all.
I am not sure if you remember one of my first blog posts, but it was about love languages and words of affirmation is at the top of my list along with quality time. Let me just say physical touch is creeping its way up their but that is another post for another time.
Anywho, for the past week or so I have been receiving an abundance of affirmation. I know that is was God led...because y'all...your girl was down bad emotionally. I was so vexed and damn near depressed about where this thing was going. I wasn't sure that I was making a positive impact and that was really bothering me. I didn't say anything to anyone about it not even my hubby. I just kinda faded.
But that's the power of speaking life into others. The messages, emails, phone calls, and everything else that has filled my bucket has rejuvenated me to keep on keeping on. I have to give a special shoutout to Linda Holloway (you will learn more about her in a few weeks) for our girl chat that really helped me put things into perspective. Ms. Linda you are amazing!
A big part of self care is knowing when you need to take a break or when you need to fall back. I am learning each day to listen to my body and to allow the spirit to guide me in what I decide to give energy and attention. Some days I have time and others...well...I just don't. That has taken a lot of growth, maturity, and honesty about what I want out of my life daily.
So where do we go from here...we go UP! There is much to come from iamMichelleRena in 2022 but at my own pace and with respect to the rest that is required to do what I am trying to do! I will be sharing more and more about this journey to freedom, overcoming anxiety, dealing mental wellness for my whole family, and managing relationships. I hope that you will continue to rock with me.
