I Give Up

Last week I shared about the process of Prostrating In God’s Presence and shared one of the definitions of Prostrate (adjective)

pros· trate | \ ˈprä-ˌstrāt  \

1: stretched out with face on the ground in adoration or submission

also : lying flat

Today I want to share another definition of the same word…

Prostrate (adjective)

pros· trate | \ ˈprä-ˌstrāt  \

: completely overcome and lacking vitality, will, or power to rise

The power that lies in this definition and the verse of the day reminds that when my anxiety attempts to overtake me that I don’t have to try to figure it all out. I can still have joy in the midst of it all. I can give up and surrender to the one who holds all the power!

"When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy." Psalm 94:19 KJV

As I wrapped up a long week and busy weekend of nonstop kid focused events, I could feel myself lacking vitality and will. I could feel the Monday blues setting in early because I didn’t get the break and rest I needed over the weekend.

I could feel my body calling me to just lay down. But I still had/have so much to do.

Merriam Webster Dictionary calls this "prostrate", with the definition as stated above; "completely overcome and lacking vitality, will, or power to rise".

Sometimes, we find it hard to do what's expected of us. I’m sure that there are other moms, women, people out there who feel like the candle is always burning at both ends and something within you is calling you to just lay down. There will be times when you feel "completely overcome" by your circumstances and you will have to be strong enough to admit that it's time to take a break and to get refilled, refueled, and rejuvenated. This will be one of those decisions that will set you apart as a wise leader. Giving up your own will and your own power to rise and to rely on God to RISE IN YOU, will be the icing on the cake, the cherry on top that will make the difference in HOW YOU FINISH! How you finish is determined by how you surrender in the process.

Be encouraged. Find joy in the consolation that you will definitely find in the secret place of His presence. It's all in the surrender.

Lord, Today I give up. I give up trying to do it myself. I give up using my own strength and striving in my own power to rise. I surrender it all to you, and I ask that you teach me Your ways. Welcome me once again to sweet fellowship with you and strengthen me with renewed vitality and with your power to rise. In Jesus' name. Amen.

There is so much power in submission! Remember that you don’t have to have all of the answers when you trust in the one who does!

Love,

MichelleRena
