Aht Aht, get yourself some therapy!

Happy Friday! I felt this in my spirit and just had to share it! There are so many instances where you want to just vent to your friends and family. Honestly, sometimes that is enough! But there are so many times when it isn't enough and what you need is someone who will not only listen to you, but will also provide you with the tools to move forward despite whatever might seem to be presenting itself as an obstacle. It is so critical that we normalize therapy among Black men, women, and children.

While it is great to have friends who are sounding boards, you must bare in mind that your friends and family are often facing their own issues and/or dealing with their own trauma. They are not truly equipped to help you unpack your mental baggage and help you navigate through whatever crisis you might be experiencing or on the verge of. Take some time to connect with a professional. It is their job to listen, support, and help you navigate the murky waters of life. I'm not telling you what I think, I am telling you what I know. Take the time to care for your mental health in the same way that you care for your physical health.
