Day 17 of Gratitude-- My Past

It is day 17 of my 30 days of gratitude challenge and today I am grateful for my past! There are people that if they knew my full story would likely be embarrassed if they shared my past or perhaps would even feel sorry for me, but I don't. I am grateful for my past and everything in it that has helped to shape me into the woman, wife, and mother that I have become today.

Often times we allow our past to define who we are or we allow others to define us by our past. She used to be this...she used to be that! Honestly, we all used to be something, but that's the beauty in growth and evolution. We get to become new and improved. Our design changes and we make ourselves better. I used to be a lot of things...some good, some bad, and some indifferent.

What I know about all of the things I used to be is that they transformed me. Because of my triumphant past I am now able to stand firm in my choices and decisions. I know what I like and don't like. I know who I am and what I desire from myself and those around me. Because of my victorious past, I am now able to express my desires without pause. Because of my quiet past I am able to live out loud in the present! So yep, I am beyond grateful for my past (the good and the seemingly bad) and I hope that you will take some time to review your past and be grateful for yours too.

What are you grateful for today?

XOXO,

MichelleRena
